Brandy Park Project
Building a Home for Lakeland Youth Softball
Lakeland Youth Softball is working with the Brandy Park Commission to develop Brandy Park into the long-term home of softball in the Lakeland area.
Our vision is a safe, welcoming, tournament-capable complex that supports recreational softball, competitive teams, player development, and community use.
The plan is still evolving. This is a working vision that will continue to be refined with input from the Brandy Park Commission and other park stakeholders.
Our Vision
Brandy Park has the potential to become a true home for Lakeland Youth Softball.
The long-term plan is centered around:
- One approximately 275' field
- Two approximately 200' fields
- Batting and pitching cages
- Practice and warm-up space
- Permanent concessions
- Improved irrigation, lighting, storage, and field-maintenance infrastructure
- The ability to host multiple tournaments each summer
2027: Building the Foundation
Our first priority is improving the facilities that already exist and making Brandy Park a place where teams want to play.
For the 2027 season, priorities include:
- Improve and grade the existing fields
- Convert the large field to approximately 275'
- Eliminate ground-squirrel and gopher hazards
- Evaluate and restore the irrigation system
- Improve dugouts and field-maintenance capability
- Add secure storage and proper field-preparation equipment
- Build and open a permanent concession stand
Our goal is to have the fields ready for spring practices and permanent concessions operating before regular games begin around Memorial Day.
Looking Ahead
Once the existing facilities are operating at a high standard, the next phase will focus on expanding what Brandy Park can offer.
Future priorities include:
- Third 200' softball field
- Batting and pitching cages
- Dedicated practice space
- Scoreboards
- Field-maintenance building and ATV/UTV storage
- Long-term parking and circulation improvements
A Community Partnership
Brandy Park remains a public community facility overseen by the Brandy Park Commission.
LYS is working toward a partnership that gives softball a reliable home while improving the park for the broader community. When field capacity allows, the complex may also support baseball, adult softball, clinics, camps, and other appropriate recreational uses.
Help Build Brandy Park
This project will require support from families, businesses, contractors, donors, and community partners.
There will be opportunities to help through:
- Financial donations
- Business sponsorships
- Donated materials
- Professional and trade services
- Volunteer work
- Fundraising events
Major sponsorship and naming opportunities are also being considered, subject to Brandy Park Commission approval.
